Cindra, Dracai of Retribution

Cindra, Dracai of Retribution is our next deck for the Zero to Hero series! Standard disclaimer: These decklists are meant to showcase the hero and their playstyle, variations in the meta will always happen both in your local scene and at larger events. Feel free to discuss what’s working for you in the comments.

Lets take a look at the decklists (images link to Fabrary deck builder):

Differentiating herself from her draconic partner in crime Fang, Cindra comes out swinging with little to no setup required. Cindra puts her foot down on turn zero and keeps on the gas until one of the heroes is dead. If you enjoy having time between rounds, Cindra may be the hero for you. Marking and fealty are important in Cindra, but aren’t the focus of the hero. Fealty tokens are used to enable certain draconic strategies that we can’t pick up with Brand with Cinderclaw, but you don’t need to stress creating 1-2 every turn if it’s not there. We’re loaded up with 0 and 1 cost attacks, preferably with go again or the ability to gain it. Standard commoner defensive cards in the sideboard.

Adding rares into the mix, we pick up Art of the Dragon: Claw and Art of the Dragon: Fire. Both of these cards benefit from the additional fealty generation that Demonstrate Devotion and Display Loyalty bring to the mix. We also gain access to Hurl and Silver Talons, which serve an important role since we don’t have access to Flick Knives in PB. Rounding out the additional cards in this decklist are Wrath of Retribution, Snatch, and Drop of Dragon Blood which can all be useful to extend our turns or apply additional pressure to our opponents.

Cindra goes from fast to light speed with the addition of Flick Knives, Mask of Momentum, and Dragonscaler Flight Path. Blood Splattered Vest allows us to go extra wide on turns we really need to. Blood Runs Deep is a (usually) free way to flick both daggers and Throw Dagger is included to give us a tertiary backup plan on getting our daggers into the graveyard. Art of the Dragon: Blood and Ignite give us more resource management, and Oath of Loyalty is a draconic 0 for 4 go again that plays right into our game plan. At majestic, we pick up several great sideboard cards such as Ancestral Empowerment against decks that like to block, Loyalty Beyond the Grave, That All You Got? against other aggressive decks, and the multi-purpose powerhouses of Shelter from the Storm and Warmonger’s Diplomacy.
